About the Fossil Basin Promotion Board

Mission and Responsibilities

Fossil Basin Promotion Board is dedicated to the promotion of the rich outdoor adventures provided by both Kemmerer and Diamondville, Wyoming. The Fossil Basin Promotion Board is funded exclusively by lodging tax collections. The Board’s role is to utilize those funds to further promote and develop the area as a travel destination.

Board Members

The Fossil Basin Promotion Board has five seats. The current Board members are:

  • Sheryl Gunter—Treasurer
  • Madonna Long
  • Chris Culler

Board Meetings

The Fossil Basin Promotion Board holds public meetings every month, usually on the first Wednesday of the month. Meetings begin at 6:00pm Mountain Time.

Currently, meetings are held via Zoom conference call and at Diamondville Town Hall. To join the call, please use this Zoom link.

Tourism Promotion Grants

The Fossil Basin Promotion Board allocates a portion of their budget for tourism promotion grants that may be awarded to events or projects that promote tourism in Kemmerer and Diamondville. Grant applications are accepted by the Fossil Basin Promotion Board during the board meeting the first Wednesday of April or October. Applicants must present their proposals and final reports (if previously awarded a grant) in person or by Zoom conference call during the board meeting. Our Marketing Agency

Since 2019, Fossil Basin Promotion Board has been working with Herrmann Global, a strategic tourism marketing firm headquartered in Lander, WY, for a variety of marketing services including paid digital campaign management, social media management, marketing strategy, website management and maintenance, media buying, content creation, email marketing, and reporting.
